LEADERSHIP MEANS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY: Rayneau Gajadhar Responds to Disruption in Grenada

Following an unfortunate incident involving concrete trucks operated by Construction & Industrial Equipment Ltd. during a New National Party political meeting and birthday celebration in Grenada, businessman and corporate entrepreneur Rayneau Gajadhar issued a sincere apology to Political Leader Hon. Emmalin Pierre, her supporters and everyone who attended the event.
The movement of the trucks reportedly disrupted the gathering while it was in progress. Although the company’s management was unaware that the event was taking place, Mr. Gajadhar acknowledged that the drivers should have exercised better judgment once they became aware of the situation.
“Our management was not aware that the event was taking place,” Mr. Gajadhar explained. “Arrangements had previously been made to pour concrete at one of our construction sites that evening. Nevertheless, once our drivers became aware of the gathering, they should have exercised better judgment and taken reasonable steps to avoid disrupting the proceedings.”
Addressing the Matter Responsibly
The concrete deliveries had been scheduled in advance as part of ongoing work at a construction site. Concrete pouring is often a time-sensitive operation that must continue according to a carefully coordinated schedule.
However, the company recognizes that operational demands must always be balanced with public safety, respect for communities and consideration for lawful public activities.
Particular concern has been raised over an allegation that one of the drivers removed a “No Entry” sign placed by the Royal Grenada Police Force. Mr. Gajadhar has confirmed that the matter will be investigated thoroughly.
If the investigation finds that an employee acted improperly, the matter will be addressed in accordance with the company’s established policies and procedures.
This approach reflects an important principle of responsible leadership: facts must be established, concerns must be taken seriously and accountability must follow where wrongdoing is confirmed.
