PREPARE FOR AN EMERGENCY - HEAVY RAINFALL

A weather system is due to pass  over the island later today  and then another  across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea later this week - most likely Friday.  Regardless of development, these systems could bring locally heavy rainfall to St Lucia and by extension the Lesser Antilles today and over the next couple of days. Get prepared with Rayneau!!!!

Heavy rain can cause pooling, overflowing rivers and runoffs, and flooding. These events may result in evacuations, power outages, supply shortages, traffic obstructions and road closures, infrastructure damage and debris.

Before heavy rain events begin, it is critical to be prepared for the possibility of flooding. Taking the following steps can help keep your household and your property out of danger.

  • Inspect your home.
  • Remove leaves and debris from gutters,
  • Clear your storm drains
  • Clear drainage areas of any debris or trash
  • Make sure that windows and doors are properly secured
  • Make sure your sump pump is working if you have one.

If there’s a risk of severe flooding in your area,

  • Move your valuable belongings to the upper floors
  • Bring inside possessions like lawn furniture, grills, and trash cans, or else tie them down securely.
  • Charge your cell phone,
  • Put fresh batteries in your flashlights,
  • Make sure you have adequate food and water for a few days.

You can fill your bathtubs, sinks, and plastic soda bottles with clean water, but sanitize the sinks and tubs first by cleaning with bleach and rinsing them.

Stop procrastinating!!! Be ready when the rains come. OFFICIAL SOD-TURNING CEREMONY FOR VIDE BOUTEILLE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Sod turning as the Prime Minister and Mr Gajadhar looks on

Construction and Industrial Equipment Ltd (CIE) is excited to have been awarded the contract for the construction of the Vide Bouteille primary School in La Clery. The Project will include an external area, open breezeway, parking lot area (including drainage) for staff and visitors' vehicles connecting to the existing roadway, wheelchair and pedestrian accesses to building, septic system, and rainwater harvesting system.

To mark the commencement of construction works, CIE in conjunction with the Ministry of Education officials held an official sod-turning ceremony on June 24th 2021 at the school grounds.Present were the The Prime Minister, Hon Allen Chastanet, Minister of Education, Hon Gale Rigobert, Parliamentary Representative, Hon Stephenson King, the EQUIP Team,  Team Leader, Mr Rayneau Gajadhar of Construction and Equipment Ltd and other government and CIE officials.

In his short remarks, Mr Gajadhar touched on a range of issues including  personal, educational, and of course typical of the Team leader, at  times little humour in betwee. Although his company has already started clearing and cleaning the site, with no disturbance to the students, Mr Gajadhar said the work will begin in full on the July 12, 2021, the week after school closes.

The Team Leader has always been close to the learning institution and has strong views that “Learning and Education makes us better.” Speaking on the impact  a certain teacher  made on him during his school days. Mr Gajadhar went on to mention that teachers are really unaware of the impact they can have on people’s lives. “The importance of a teacher I think is so much more than they believe or even realize the impact they create on people.” He concluded.

“I am always for and helping schools and students’ learning. By nurturing the school and education systems to treat the people to what they want, I think that better all-round students would be produced.” Mr Gajadhar remarked

He continued, “……You can’t find plumbers, electricians, skilled trades people. For some other reason the education system has made these people believe that these jobs are low jobs, only to find out that those people get  a lot more money than [even] my office staff.”

Mr Gajadhar says he would like to see more emphasis on skills training in  schools starting from an early age. The Team Leader went on to implore of the Minister of Education to look into this as he is willing to offer whatever assistance he can to see this happen.

Excerpts from Team Leader's Sod -turning Ceremong remarks

In closing, Gajadhar recognized the Parliamentarian’s efforts for his constituents and expressed thanks for his company being selected to implement this project. “This school, [is] right in the heart of Castries; I know Mr King will be very happy about it; I know he is always asking for something for his schools, so getting something once again will be a big plus for him. So thanks again EQUIP and the team to have chosen  us  to construct this school. We will do our best.”

This project is being implemented by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development (MOE) through its Department of Education (DOE

We are pleased to be patnering with EQUIP, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and by extension the Government of St Lucia on this project. Our team will be working assiduously to ensure we maintain quality that Vide Bouteille community can be proud of. Rayneau - Creating Opportunities, Building Your Future!

RAYNEAU RENTALS AND SALES — YOUR PARTNER FOR DISASTER RELIEF EQUIPMENT RENTAL

Running a business requires access to the right equipment. That includes quality equipment you can count on to be there when a major disaster strikes. To make sure you’re ready for disaster response, you need an emergency preparedness plan. That plan must include disaster  relief rental equipment.

When you’re faced with a natural disaster, there’s no better partner to have than Rayneau Rentals & Sales. With our location in Vide Bouteille, the store has every equipment resource you’ll need to face nature’s force and follow through with a successful recovery. Whether it’s temporary power solutions or massive earthmoving machinery, partnering with Rayneau Rentals & Sales provides you with peace of mind and proven support.

At Rayneau Rental & Sales, we help you prepare for whatever natural disaster you can expect in your business. For many businesses, losing electrical power is a primary concern. We have you covered when your power goes down by supplying you with electric power. These generator sets range from light-duty units that run basic electrical support to bigger capacity generators that give you a nearly unlimited power supply.

Maintaining electrical flow during a storm or other natural event is critical. We’ve got you covered there. However, Rayneau Rentals & Sales goes above and beyond power generation as your natural disaster relief partner. We’ll supply you with a wide range of equipment, from pumps to trucks.

At Rayneau Rentals & Sales, we believe it’s part of our responsibility to help you prepare for devastating natural events. That includes helping you with an emergency preparedness plan. But first, let’s look at why many businesses don’t have a solid emergency preparation and recovery plan

  • “It’ll never happen to me:" Just because it hasn’t happened before doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Practically every community is vulnerable to natural disasters. For most St Lucian businesses, it’s not a matter of “if.” It’s a matter of “when.” Rayneau Rentals & Sales understands this reluctance to prepare, so we do everything we can to make your equipment rental needs easy.
  • “It takes time:" We understand this, too. At Rayneau Rentals & Sales, we know that time is money. You operate a busy business, and you spend a lot of valuable time responding to customers. But, we also understand that when you’re down during and after a natural disaster, and you can’t take care of customers, you can easily lose them to competitors.
  • “I don’t know what to do:" This is another common concern we hear at our store. That’s understandable as well. However, we know that making an emergency preparedness plan is invaluable insurance that helps you be ready when disaster strikes. The first part of your plan should be making sure Rayneau Rentals & Sales partners with you to assess your needs and ensure you’re prepared to respond.

Being prepared for a severe natural event makes sound business sense. Your investment in creating an emergency preparedness plan will pay off when trouble comes and your business gets put to the test. Your investment in building an equipment rental relationship is also a critical preparedness component. That’s where  Rayneau Rentals & Sales comes in.

We’re waiting to hear from you.  Call us today 450 RENT (7368) or visit us at our Vide Bouteille location on the John Compton Highway.

RAYNEAU CREATES WITH THE HEART AND BUILDS WITH THE MIND - A LOOK INTO IT'S CONSISTENCY FOR TOP QUALITY WORK!.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives, the cumulative experience of many masters of craftsmanship.

 John Ruskin

While reading a few
comments about Rayneau's quality of work on the Dominica Marigot Hospital posted on Rayneau Construction and Industrial Products Facebook page  I was more than inspired to write this piece.

The comments:-

Kenneth GajadharShame. St.Lucia isn't willing to give you the same cooperation as that received with Dominica. Keep the quality of workmanship one of your mainstays.

Mauricia Thomas-Francis: Lucian Pride! Keep doing your thing Rayneau...

Dale DavidIt feels my heart with pride to know that one of our own st Lucian can deliver such quality work 💪🏿 Congratulations 👏🏿 to Mr Rayneau Gajadhar and his team, keep making us proud at home 🏡 and abroad well done 👏🏿

Selah KleysGreat team work, finish looks brillant.

Anyone reading these comments has to ask themselves, “What magic does Rayneau Gajadhar use which enables his company to consistently deliver  such high quality of workmanship? There is no magic there my friend! Dare to know? Read on to find out!!!!

For starters, Mr Gajadhar takes pride in doing his work. You can take that to the bank!!! And to gain that boasting right, he practices quality work in the projects his company undertake. How?

Simply, Rayneau Creates with the Heart and Builds with the Mind!

Rayneau is confident that he can deliver quality work within schedule given the labour shortage that’s wrapping the construction industry. He is able to do so by subcontracting, using modular construction, and implementing technology like project management software and construction crew management software, processes at the site can be streamlined while work quality is ensured.

But these are not all. Let’s look at some more strategies the company employs that enhance the quality of work in his construction projects:-

1. Before writing the project plan, Rayneau has a complete understanding of the standards and specifications set by the client and his team. These standards reflect on the results of the plan the company make. Rayneau also brainstorms with the stakeholders on how each standard and specification can be met and work closely with the client’s architects and engineers when writing the plan.

2. Mr Gajadhar discusses fully and in detail the quality requirements of the project  with his crew members so they’ll know why their schedule and set of tasks are designed that way. The Team Leader continually hammers home that poor quality work won’t be accepted, sets high standards from the start and encourages his crew members to take pride in their work

3. Through years of experience the boss is able to hire workers that are enthusiastic and willing to prosper in the work. He encourages his team to undergo training so they can level up their skills. Investing time and money on the right training has benefited the company  as workers can apply what they’ll learn at work to improve their work quality.

4. Our Team leader NEVER condones low quality work in spite of tight schedules. Doing so, Mr Gajadhar is of the view that crew members will then start thinking that substandard work is acceptable as long as the deadline is met. He never allows poor quality work on his projects.

5. Daily project progress monitoring is one of Rayneau’s strong points when it comes to quality work. It’s easy to miss out on instruction when working at the site, most especially when the team is placed under pressure because of the deadline. But Rayneau has made it a rule to have crew members report any errors committed at the site. Company engineers believe that when they look away and ignore these mistakes, all other processes that come next will lead to bigger mistakes. Results are always checked.

6. The company ensures scheduled testing from time to time.  It makes it a regular part of its quality control. The tests are carried out after each milestone to see whether the structure is in compliance with the client’s standards and specifications.

  7. The company believes in the thought that the materials used is an important factor which determines the quality of the work. Engineers with Rayneau make no bones about the quality of material used on projects.  Joshi, a project manager with Construction and Industrial Equipment Ltd (CIE) says,”No matter how skillful the project team is when the materials used are of low quality, the end result still won’t be as good.” That said, CIE uses  reputable suppliers like RG Quarry and Rayneau Construction and Industrial Products (RCIP) who can deliver quality materials that have the right specifications for the project.

          8. Rayneau knows that every project will be made up of phases so for every phase finished, the work is protected   to prevent rework caused by damages inflicted by careless people at the site.  This is done by placing signages around the area you need to protect so that your crew members will be reminded that they are prohibited from going near the newly finished phase.

The company knows that mistakes can be avoided through proper planning, efficient construction crew management, and regular progress tracking. However, and like we mentioned before, there will issues that can arise because of unexpected situations at the site. For instance, weather disturbances make it difficult to predict the right drying condition and time of concrete.

9. Since it’s almost unavoidable, the compannever ignores mistakes and act on them immediately so that it can go on with other parts of the building correctly too.

10. Rayneau Documents everything about each project.  To make work easier, the company prepares checklists containing things that need to be accomplished in a day, the resources to be used, and possible issues encountered that foremen can simply tick.

Finally, Mr Gajadhar agrees that documentation is very important for  his company as it expands its business. The team leader is aware that previous project data helped in writing better plans on the next job order as well in strategizing for more workable schedules and estimates. All these lead to the work quality Rayneau is noted for, both at home and within the Region.

Rayneau is ready to build your Future!  Contact us TODAY at (758) 450 7247 , let’s discuss how we can help you bring your project to life with maximum quality finish.

RAYNEAU GROUP EXTENDS FATHERS' DAY GREETINGS TO ALL DADS NATIONWIDE!!!!

< WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A GOOD DAD? >

If you sit there and ask yourself right now, “Am I a good dad?” What would you say?

Would you say most of the time? Would you say maybe? Or would you be unsure?

There are no right or wrong answers to this question, and everyone will have a different opinion on what it means to be a good dad.

As you read the following criteria of a “good dad,” be sure to take a look at yourself and be honest. It’s never too late to improve and the fact that you’re here reading this right now, tells us that you are a good dad.

Being a good dad is about being willing to learn with your kids and to be open and honest in the conversations you have with them. It's about not being afraid to talk to your kids about the things in life you are nervous to talk about and not passing these conversations off to other people. It's important for children to have a good role model to look up to in life

As a father, you want to be there for your children, to impart knowledge and share experiences with them, to help them see things that they may not always see. “I’m  not there to rule, but to encourage them to excel in what they like and all that they want to be, ”  says a  dad from the South.

At the end of the day, as a father, you just want to see your children happy. And as parents, we’re always looking out for our children’s strengths and weaknesses, and encouraging them to develop their capabilities.

Fatherhood means being a good steward for the next generation, raising them right with good values and an identity that they will carry throughout their lives.  It’s also about being your children carer, provider and nurturer.

At Rayneau we feel that the most important qualities that a father can impart to his children are humility and thankfulness. These are the qualities that you should want to see in your children so that:

  •  they’ll have empathy towards others, and also
  •  realise that life is all about teamwork and considering not just their own needs
  • but also the needs of the people around them

We also believe it’s important to never look down on others and never judge. And, there’s no such thing as being spoon-fed or feeling entitled. Whatever you want in life, you’ve got to work hard to get it – no matter who you are.

Finally, a good dad loves, even when he doesn’t feel like it. Let’s face it, as fathers, we may not always feel that we get the credit we deserve; but we have to love, protect, nurture, and provide anyway.

HAPPY FATHERS' DAY FROM RAYNEAU TEAM

GAJADHAR MAKES THE PLEA FOR MILLENNIALS TO LEARN A TRADE SKILL

Mr Gajadhar
The CEO/Team Leader of Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd, Mr Rayneau Gajadhar, being that visionary he’s always been seems to forsee  a futuristic demand for trademen and women in this country. In a flyer on his FaceBook page Gajadhar encourages young men, (women too) to learn a trade skill.

Having the foresight about the promising potential for skilled trades jobs on island, Mr Gajadhar has taken the bold initiative to inform young persons of the benefits learning a trade skill.

The CEO says,"For those who have the drive to work with their hands, a career in skilled trades can lead to valuable roles as Construction Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Drywall painters, Roofers and many more!  It's so much money in these fields!!!!"

While often overlooked, the Team Leader believes that the skilled trades industry is extensive and encompasses numerous career opportunities in the construction  industry. As a matter of fact, practicing in the trades industry yields an abundance of roles that incorporate innovative, hands-on, and creative tasks.

Here are some of the benefits of working in the industry:-

1. Transition from School to a Career Faster

For most people, the end goal of pursuing education is to eventually find a job and work. Considering this, one of the biggest benefits of entering the skilled trades industry is how soon you can start your career after receiving your secondary education.

By pursuing a skilled trades career, you significantly reduce the amount of time spent in school, allowing you to join the workforce sooner.

2. Demand for Skilled Trades Is Rising

If you have been moving around, you’re probably familiar with the myriad of construction projects underway by our company and others island wide  – it’s like St Lucia is constantly under construction.

Fortunately, the construction of these projects brings forth the demand for skilled tradesmen/women who are trained to execute these projects.

Luckily for skilled trades workers, the demand for housing is only going to climb throughout the island, so the demand for skilled tradespeople will climb as well.

3. Rest Assured You Have Local Job Security

Building on the idea of demand, those in the trades industry can rest assured they have local job security. Unlike some other professions and industries, skilled trades cannot be easily outsourced due to the nature of the role

Today, outsourcing is one of the most serious threats to St Lucian workers across the country. So, by practicing in the trades industry, you can rest assured that you don’t need to worry about your job being easily outsourced.

4. New Career and Fresh Start

Many people training to become a tradesman/woman are starting new careers and it means a fresh start. Having a fresh start in a new career can be hugely beneficial, because doing the same job over and over again for many years can become tedious, so giving your career a refresh can give you a new lease of life. Whether it be a technical or construction trade you can get started.

5. Booming Trade Industry

The building industry is booming right now, all you have to do is walk down your road and no doubt some building work is going on, including some huge housebuilding projects. These means tradesmen/women are in high demand and the chance for work and earning good money is available to everyone. Whether it be building new houses, or working on huge buildings, work is available for you to get started in a new career.

6. You can be employed with Rayneau

After being trained it is likely that our expanding company may have vacancies to hire talented tradesmen/women. Mr Gajadhar is of th firm opinion that g toetting a trade is the best way to get started in a brand new career and to give you a new start in life.

With the new wave in robberies taking place on the island, Mr Gajadhar's idea might very well be the solution to help curb the crime surge.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLOURS TO PAINT YOUR HOME INTERIOR

Choosing the right paint colour will make all the difference. Several factors contribute to a room’s vibe, but the choice of paint color makes perhaps the biggest statement. Whether you’re looking for a bold paint color for the family room or calming tones for the bedroom, it’s important to know the psychological effects of your color choice. Before you repaint your kitchen, consider your options to make sure you set the right mood.

The colour of the paint you choose must complement your choice of finishes, style of architecture, and design. When painting the ceiling, you will need to consider if you want to make the space cozy; thus, a darker tone or a warmer colour is suggested. If you want to make the ceiling appear higher and give your room a greater sense of space, you can paint the ceiling a light color, such as white.

Whether you are looking for a quick fresh or total overhaul, we have gathered here some home interior design ideas and tips on how to dress up your wall with paint.

Relax and keep cool with  Green and Blue
1. Soothing Look

Light colour choices such as blues, lavenders, nature green, pinks, and soft yellows are excellent choices for a soothing room look. These colours help to calm a busy mind and bring balance to your room. You can use a monochromatic approach while staying with the same shade of colour as it brings the element of calmness in your space. The use of different textures in your bedding and accessories in contrast with your room colour makes it look more appealing. You will be pleasingly surprised at the effects just changing textures and colours can have on your room.

Find balance with Gray
 2. Elegant Look

Neutral colours offer the elegance and flexibility within a room. They are no longer limited to only simply white or beige colour in home interior designs. You can turn a simple room into one of elegance by selecting varying shades of neutral colours such as saturated greys, red-toned browns, ivory, etc. Neutral colours give the space a more timeless and open feel while also allowing other design highlights to stand out more. You can accessorize the room with varying shades of rust, mahogany, or garnet colour room accessories, which instantly will give a feeling of earthiness and richness.

Energize your space with Orange/Cheer up with happy Yellow/Heighten your senses with Red

3. Vibrant Look

If you are looking for an attractive combination of vitality and glamour in your room, you need to select vibrant colours and their respective shades in a way that gives life to your room without overpowering it. Vivid bright colours like mustard yellow, orange, gold, ultraviolet, and red are dominating style trends in home interior designswhich with the right balance can make your room look aesthetically pleasing.

Brighten up with White
4. Vintage Look

If you wish to go back to your roots to escape from the stresses and strains of modern life, then vintage room look is best to go for. You will generally find that the vintage palette is soft in intensity and uses a lot of creamy white such as walnut shades with the touch of a soft moonlight glow. It brings back to the old natural charm and surprisingly inexpensive to create.
