The grand finale of St Lucia’s 39th Creole Heritage Month, Jounen Kwéyòl, climaxes today Sunday, October 29, 2023, at various venues around the island - Soufriere, Canaries and Mabouya Valley.
The
theme for this year's Creole Heritage Month is "Kwéyol-Wasin Pép-La: Creole: The
Root of the People." This theme encapsulates the essence of the
celebration, emphasizing the integral role that Creole culture plays in shaping
the identity and history of the Saint Lucian people.
Jounen Kwéyòl, also known as “Creole Day,” is a special time on the island of Saint Lucia. Observed on the Sunday closest to the 28th of October, this day celebrates the French/African dialect widely spoken in Saint Lucia.
A unique mix of creole (Kwéyòl) food, music, games and folklore give this festival a wholly unique flavor, unlike anything else in the Caribbean.
The Management and Staff of Rayneau Group of Companies extend “An Bonn Fèt Kwéyòl” to all our customers, clients, friends, well-wishers, and by extension all St Lucians both here and in the diaspora.
