St Lucia Red Cross Building Gets A Fresh Look

During the early part of July, a crew from Construction and Industrial Equipment Ltd (CIE Ltd) has been on the St Lucia Red Cross Society grounds at Vigie scrubbing down the building by pressure washing it to remove cracked paint and blisters to prepare the structure for a fresh coat of paint. Also, the section of the property facing the George FL Charles Airport is being fenced. This is part of an initiative by Mr Gajadhar's Company to assist non-profit organizations such as the St Lucia Red Cross Society in executing its services to the local population.

"The organization is over fifty years old and it is presently managed by an executive comprising of seven persons including Ms Terencia Gaillard as Director General", the President Mr Hubert Austin Pierre said, feeling excited about the whole project. He went on to say that this project could not be more timely when one thinks of the economic hard times and reduction in donations that the organization currently has to cope with.  Mr Gajadhar has agreed to partner with the organization in its work towards helping communities, he says.

“It’s been over ten (10) years since our building was last painted. Not only does paint fade and lose its shine, it also cracks and blisters. Aesthetically, this is far from appealing. Mr Gajadhar agreed to the give the building a complete fresh look and help in part in building a fence to secure the compound.” Mr Pierre concluded.

In the process of seeking for assistance, Mr Pierre reiterates that his organization contacted many local philanthropists. He says when their case was put to Mr Gajadhar he never once hesitated to help. He continues, “When a person like Mr Gajadhar decides to show kindness to organizations like ours, he invites better fortune in the form of respect, goodwill and lifelong good karma. We thank him for being so kind and generous.”

Mr. Gajadhar feels honored to be able to give back to such non-profit organizations. He is of the view that his contribution will go a long way in being  a catalyst for change and make a difference in the way people behave towards each other. “The St Lucia Red Cross Society plays a vital role in the protection of life, health and human dignity in our island. Being in partnership with this vital organization I am sure will yield great benefits for both of us” Mr Gajadhar said.

"We will be training twelve (12) workers from CIE Ltd in Health and Safety measures and permit the company the use of our fence for advertisement logos. These are all part and parcel of a memorandum of understanding by the two entities."
“We need more persons like Rayneau who is extremely kind, generous and helps people in need." Mr Pierre finally concludes.

Ms Gaillard also extended her thanks to Mr Gajadhar and expressed her appreciation for the level of workmanship exhibited by the CIE Ltd crew.
