Construction and Industrial Equipment (CIE) Ltd is aggressively tackling a project that is expected to reduce risks associated with landslide hazards in the Roseau Valley, Dominica; thereby making the site and surrounding communities less vulnerable to future adverse weather-related events.

According to CIE’s top engineer on site, Sunil Pal, "Work commenced on September 1, 2022, and to date, we have completed over 70 meters of retaining walls and over 200 meters of reinforced concrete works. The project is expected to last two months."
Laudat is a small village in the interior of Dominica, located between three mountains: Morne Watt, Morne Micotrine (Morne Mackak), and Morne Trois Pitons. With a population of just above 300 people, Laudat is referred to as a "gateway" because it is the sole entry point to many of the island's sights, including the Boiling Lake, Fresh Water Lake, and Titou Gorge.

Laville, Minister for Public Works and The Digital Economy, visited the work site recently, and has placed
his confidence in the ability of CIE to complete the project within the
timeframe based on the design specifications agreed upon.
On his facebook page Team Leader of the company, Mr Rayneau Gajadhar, thanked the Dominican Minister for his visit. "Thanks Minister for your continued interest and encouragement. We will do our best to make Dominica proud. We Love You."
