That Memorable "Aha!" Moment for Rayneau.

How do you come up with new business ideas? Before any entrepreneur became successful there was a time they did not know what to do. And then the "Aha" moment happened. How? If you're like Rayneau Gajadhar, inspiration, opportunity and those magical "Aha!" moments come from a place everyone can access: everyday life. Before we get in to this "Aha" moment, lets speak to the ongoing Business Month program organized by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs has designated the month of September to Business Month. The Ministry is parent to a number of business support organizations including the National Competiveness and Productivity Council, of which Mr Rayneau Gajadhar, our team leader is the president. On Thursday 24, September, 2015, the Council launches its website to the business community. Also throughout the month a number of activities have been taking place at various venues in the north of the island. The purpose of the Business month, according to the Ministry is to “………take the opportunity to educate and advise the business community and St Lucians on the roles and functions of each of the affiliate entities.”  This year, Business Month runs under the theme “Economic Growth through Business Support (with focus on youth and women)” A timely reminder of Rayneau's contribution to Youth through the Gen-X and Youth Business Trust Programs.

Rayneau donated $20,000 to this initiative in 2011
We at Rayneau Construction and Industrial Products Ltd and by extension the RG Group of Companies extend to all businesses – small, medium and large - best of wishes, an educative Business Month, and hope that the information meted out during the discussions will bring out creative business ideas in the youth and  women in the business sector.
$50,000.00 was pumped into this youth program in 2010
The RG Group of Companies comprises of the Construction & Industrial Equipment (CIE) Ltd, RG Quarry (RGQ) Ltd and Rayneau Construction & Industrial Products (RCIP) Ltd. Each company was founded in April 1995, January 1999 and December 2012 respectively. Through these three entities, the group has been able to provide the necessary products and services to meet the building and construction needs of clients in Saint Lucia and the region. RG Group of Companies has had its fair share of successes over the years which have led to a pivotal role in the economic growth of this country through support to organizations, clubs and individuals alike, not to forget its mark on the landscape of the country.

RCIP Ltd
It is public knowledge how Rayneau Gajadhar started out. In spite of his booming Construction Industry, another of his "Aha!" moments came when he realized  two things. One- Opportunity again. And Two, It is directly integrating the kind of business he was in, which is construction. So basically someone may see RCIP Ltd as a store to sell stuff, but he sees it originally as a warehouse for himself. So basically he is warehousing for himself, to enable his construction ventures; and he is able to sell to the public and provide a service. So that is basically what it is.

In terms of the size, he entered into it one time which is very unusual for people to do because of the size. He entered the market and it was deliberate, because there was a monopoly in St Lucia at the time and that is when Peter & Company had bought over M & C and Sunbilt, which were the main outlets for building materials. So Rayneau saw an opportunity to compete with a monopoly and saw this as a very good avenue. So he decided to go into it, and go into it big.
That idea has ballooned into a multi-million dollar business, making him probably the youngest self-made male millionaire on the island.

Everybody that walks through the store will tell you they feel a difference walking through it because of the Customer Service we provide. Mr Gajadhar reiterated, “We need to continuously work against that and what we need to do apart from Customer Service, is to spend time on Customer Experience and create a customer loyalty. So we have two other phases to go within this - Customer Care and Customer Experience. But we must also be able to interact with the customer so that they can feel they are part of what we are doing.”
