LA GUERRE AND VIDE BOUTEILLE PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN FINAL STRETCH!

Work is moving at a steady pace on both the La Guerre and Vide Bouteille Primary Schools as Construction and Industrial Equipment  (CIE) Ltd head into the final stretch of completion. “We're about to complete the final phase of the projects, however, we experienced a few delays, but we will get there on schedule," says architect, Jeffrey Mckie.

McKie confirms that all major works are completed and that the finishing touches are now in progress - facing, plastering, woodworking, flooring, painting, etc.

The new two-storey Vide Bouteille Primary School reinforced concrete building, takes up approximate;y total floor area of 13,571 sq. ft., which comprises of school teaching and administration space. It is set on a 43,044sq ft. lot.

Other ammenities include: 

• an external area, open breezeway, 
• parking lot area  for staff, and visitors' vehicles connecting to the existing roadway, 
• wheelchair and pedestrian accesses to building, 
• septic system 
• rainwater harvesting system. 

 As for the La Guerre Primary School, it comprises a basement, ground floor and a top floor. The top floor  houses four class rooms, a library, which will also house an IT laboratory, and a music room. The ground floor  houses four classrooms, a sick bay, staff room and Principal’s office. The basement will houses an open breezeway, male and female washroom facilities, and janitorial storage area.

Both projects are undertaken through funding from the Government of Saint Lucia and co-financed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) The are executed under the Education Quality Improvement Project (EQuIP).
