WORK PROGRESSING SMOOTHLY ON THE LA GUERRE AND VIDE BOUTEILLE SCHOOLS ~ CIE ARCHITECT

From the sod turning ceremony for the construction of the La Guerre and Vide Bouteille Primary Schools on June 10 and 21, 2021 respectively, to present day, sites activities at both projects are “progressing smoothly and on schedule.” So says Construction and Industrial Equipment (CIE) Ltd architect, Jeffrey Mckie.

Reporting on the La Guerre School project, Jeffrey went at length to give an update f the works thus far. He said, "With the Basement, Ground floor and First floor slabs completed, work continues on the Second floor with the erection of formwork and placing of reinforcement steel bars for the slab, beams and columns."

He continued, "All pipe works and conduits for plumbing, electrical and other services are also being installed."

Jeffrey went on to say that approximately 90% of all retaining walls have been completed with the remaining to be casted within the coming days.

The new La Guerre Primary school building will comprise a basement, ground floor and a top floor. The top floor will house four classrooms, a library/IT laboratory, and a music room. The ground floor will house four classrooms, a sick bay, the staff room and the Principals office. The basement will house an open breezeway, male and female washroom facilities, and a janitorial storage area

As for the Vide Bouteille Primary School project Jeffery says that construction activities continues to progress smoothly and on schedule.

Jeffrey went on to say, "With the structural components of the Ground floor and First floor completed focus is now on the Second floor slab.  This includes the erection of formwork for the floor slab and the placing of reinforcements steel bars for slab, columns and beams, followed by the installation of conduits and pipes for services including electrical, plumbing and fire safety."

The Vide Bouteille Primary School Project will include an external area, open breezeway, parking lot area (including drainage) for staff and visitors' vehicles connecting to the existing roadway, wheelchair and pedestrian accesses to building, septic system, and rainwater harvesting system.
