As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges around the world, including St Lucia and not least Rayneau’s employees, customers and friends.  These are indeed trying times, yet our customers, friends and staff remain resilient and positive. For that, we salute you.

The Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd (RGC) relies on its customers, friends and clients for its success.  While we continue to see support through our customers’ continued shopping, and remain thankful for that, our employees pivoted seamlessly to operate on reduced working days/hours in an attempt to maintain the survival and efficiency of the business. It has been absolutely astounding to witness such flexibility.

While we all grew optimistic as COVID-19 restrictions were gradually relaxed across the island, it has become clear recently that the country is now headed into a second wave of COVID-19, with reported cases on the increase in most districts - as of August 25, 2021 the total number of active cases currently in country to date is 1600.

As such, Rayneau continues to be firm in encouraging the public to practice  the  best actions to take to slow the transmission of COVID-19: 

• Social distancing (maintain a distance of 6 feet between yourself and others) 

• Stay at home 

• Avoid touching your face 

• Wash your hands frequently with soap for 20 seconds each time

• Wear a cloth mask

Our super high-tech computer system does the work of reading your colour and telling us what the best formula would be for you. What you'll need is a sample of the color that's about 1" x 1" in size. So if you have an area that you can remove from the damaged wall or perhaps some left on the can, that will do just fine.

It’s worth bearing in mind that getting a 100% match isn’t always possible. Factors that influence colour tinting accuracy include:
1  -  Material - light reflectance can distort colour. Typical examples are silks, velvets, thick pile or woven fabrics, glossy paper, metallic objects;

2  -  Tone – mid shades are the most accurate

 3  -  Finish – a gloss paint created by scanning and matching the colour from a matt surface sample will look slightly different.

 Finally,  the importance of colour is often underestimated. Colour use is important to us personally in our homes and in the places where we work.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO AN AWESOME COLLEAGUE!!!

 We spend so much time at our working places that our colleagues have almost taken the place of our families. Almost all our productive hours are spent with these people who work side by side with us and the only way we can remain sane and sober is to cultivate enriching relationships with them. Colleagues also celebrate their birthdays and this is something not many people think about.

All of us of the Rayneau team wish Natasia an amazing year that ends with accomplishing all the great goals that she has set!

However, everyone appreciates being sent best wishes on their birthdays and Natasia Talian is no exception. We at Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd  take time to remember her, indeed she spends so much time with us  and sometimes even more than our own family does.

CIE Vieux Fort is supervised/managed by Mr Alexander George, with Ms Zelmie Leon as Office/Sales Clerk and Kevin Remy as the concrete plant operator. A fleet of drivers, operators and helpers make up the rest of the staff at the branch. Frequent visits by high officials from the Head Office in Castries are a norm at the plant.

The Vieux Fort branch serves a double role in the South – a digital ready-mixed concrete plant which is complimented with a hardware department.  The plant which has a capacity to produce ready-mixed concrete at 150 cu.m per hour is fully automated and can produce varying strengths of concrete from 3000 psi to 4000 psi. as per customers’ needs.

EXCAVATION WORKS UNDERWAY AT THE VIDE BOUTEILLE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our blog readers will recall our blogpost of June 27th 2021 where we made the following statement:

"To mark the commencement of construction works, [Vide Bouteille Primary School] CIE in conjunction with the Ministry of Education officials held an official sod-turning ceremony on June 24^th 2021 at the school grounds......."

In his short remarks,..... Mr Gajadhar said the work will begin in full on the July 12, 2021, the week after school closes."

True to his word, Mr Gajadhar's company has commenenced work as promised and presently excavation works are underway full throttle.

The Excavation works prepares the foundation for the construction of a new, two-storey reinforced concrete building, of approximate total floor area of 13,571 sq. ft., of school teaching and administration space. Set on a 43,044sq ft. lot, the facility will house part of the Vide Bouteille Primary School. 

The works will include: 

• an external area, open breezeway, 
• parking lot area (including drainage) for staff and visitors' vehicles connecting to the existing roadway, 
• wheelchair and pedestrian accesses to building, 
• septic system 
• rainwater harvesting system.

This project is being implemented by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development (MOE) through its Department of Education (DOE
