Mr Gajadhar Presenting Inspecor Gaston with Equipment |
With the storm expected to pour at least 5 inches
of rain on the island between tonight and tomorrow it is most likely that landslides
and falling trees will occur, thus blocking roads and bringing traffic to a
halt.
It is against this backdrop that Inspector Gaston
sought the assistance of Mr Gajadhar. The SSU department forms part of the first
responders to any emergency situation on island.
Mr Gajadhar in his short remarks at the ceremony
made mention of how pleased he was to be of assistance to the Police
Department. “Rayneau Group of Companies is always at the forefront when it
comes to assisting the police. We know how important a chainsaw is in times of
emergency and we had no second thought in granting the SSU Department their
request. We hope you will put it to good use.’ Mr Gajadhar remarked.
Inspector Gaston extended his gratitude to Mr
Gajadhar on behalf of the department by saying, “We are thankful for this
donation and it will become very handy in the event that they have to aid in
clearing roads.”
The ceremony took place on the grounds of Rayneau
Rentals and Sales in Vide Bouteille..
Rayneau Group of Companies has assisted the Royal
St Lucia Police Force in the past when the company gave the Police Head
Quarters on Bridge Street a massive face lift. In closing it must be mentioned
that one will appreciate Rayneau is always eager to assist with the development
and betterment of the people of St Lucia.
