The store revolves around this motto: “AT RAYNEAU, WE’VE GOT IT”
The vision behind this growing brand is a young, humble and energetic man who believes that encouragement, inspiration and commitment are the ingredients for success. Rayneau Gajadhar’s success story is one built on strong values of discipline, attitude and application inculcated in him by his father.
Ray, as he is affectionately called by his workers, has had his share of frustrations after leaving the St Mary’s College, where he got passes in seven subjects. He speaks to sending numerous application letters, only to be turned down. Not being one to sit and wait, he decided to try things on his own. He sold ice-cream from a makeshift transport he became a mechanic, sold TV’s and VCR’s , recorded video tapes, tried his hand as a furniture salesman, a worker at a garment factory , a car rental company, a production manager and the list goes on.
Ray confesses that he always has a flair for construction. When the opportunity arose, he purchased two small construction equipment and rented them out to contractors. He speaks to getting many contracts from Michael Chastanet, but his real big break came from Cable and Wireless as they were known at the time.
