Constructed in 1972 with a projected lifespan of 25 years, the institution has long surpassed its intended durability. However, as the years have passed, the aging infrastructure has presented numerous challenges, including structural weaknesses, outdated amenities, and overcrowding. Steps to Laying Your Stone Walkway

This is an easy DIY project, but if you’d rather leave it to the professionals, CIE Ltd. can handle the installation at an affordable cost!

1. Plan Your Path

Decide on the shape and design of your walkway. Do you want a curved, winding path or a straight, structured look? Mark out the path using a garden hose or spray paint.

2. Prepare the Ground

Dig out the area to a depth of about 4 inches, ensuring the base is even. Lay down a weed barrier to prevent unwanted growth between stones.

3. Add a Solid Base

Fill the trench with crushed stone or sand, available at RCIP, and compact it for stability. This helps with drainage and keeps your stones in place.

4. Lay Your Stones

Carefully place each stone, leaving small gaps for aesthetic appeal. Use a rubber mallet to secure them in position.

5. Fill the Gaps

Pour fine sand or gravel into the spaces between stones and sweep it across the surface to lock everything in place.
