BON FET JOUNEN KWEYOL LAKAY

Once again Saint Lucia authoriti have restricted Jounen Kweyol celebrations this year to strictly family activities, in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd plead with families to make their event as safe as possible for guests. Keep it small and short. Encourage people to wear masks and ensure enough space for each guest to maintain at least a 1-metre distance from others. Help your guests follow COVID-19 prevention measures: provide masks, alcohol-based hand sanitizer or access to soap and water, tissues and bins with lids that close.

The Management and Staff of Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd wishes all St Lucians a safe and enjoyable Jounen Kweyol Lakay.

SHOP THESE 4 ITEMS FOR YOUR HOME JOUNEN KWEYOL SESSION

Whereas  many business places throughout the length and breadth of the island will put on their own Jounen Kweyol activities, the festival will be low-keyed amid this
unprecedented pandemic. Many households will be doing their own Jounen Kweyol thing at home this year.

At Rayneau we believe that excellent servicetop-notch products as well as customer safety is paramount to success in business; it is with this idiom in mind that we introduce to the Jounen Kweyol fans four products that will make their home session with family and friends enjoyable.

1 - Charcoal Grills: Grilling is a quintessential part of Jounen Kweyol. From hot dogs to chicken to that perfectly cooked pork chop, nothing says Jounen Kweyol like BBQ’ing for your family and friends. No matter how many different types of BBQ grills or cooking methods come onto the scene, nothing quite adds the flavor like a charcoal grill.

2– Water Dispensers: Clean and hygienic water is very important for human health. Water dispenser facilitates easily supply of drinking water. It is very useful equipment and can supply cold, moderate and hot water. Water dispensers play a vital role in workplaces, restaurants, hospitals and public places for storing clean drinking water.

3 - Fire Extinguishers: Being safe from fires during such a home activity where fires are lit almost anywhere in the yard must be of high priority for homewners - an oil fire could quickly engulf a tent/booth in an instant, henceforth causing chaos. We offer a wide range of portable fire extinguishers which can become handy in case of an emergency.

4 - Large Coolers: When you have a session, whether it’s Jounen Kweyol, a football game or a beach party, nothing does a better job at keeping your drinks nice and cold than a cooler fit for the occasion. We know it can be very cumbersome to bring along a freezer or small fridge - When it comes to keeping your drinks cold and preserving your stock of ice no cooler can beat the IGLOO 11442 Full Size Chest Cooler, 100 qt., White

GET THE RIGHT TOOLS FOR STARTING YOUR HOLIDAY SEASON PROJECTS

When you’ve got a great project or idea in mind, nothing can put a damper on things like not having the right tools or equipment for the job. In many cases it could be a tool that you need for just a short time. All too often, the cost of some tools or equipment can be expensive, making your dream project even more out of reach. If you’re lucky enough to have a neighbor who has what you need, there are other factors to consider still. Is it exactly the right tool for the job? Does it work properly? Do you and this neighbor even get along?

The truth is, you don’t have to worry about any of those things. In most cases, you can rent exactly what you need! Rayneau Rental & Sales' professionals can offer the same specialized tools that the contractors use; things that you would not normally purchase and may only need this one time.

Tools for Home Projects

Renting is the fastest and most convenient way to get the tools and equipment you need. In addition, the rental staff can provide you with the advice and instruction on how to safely and effectively use each piece of equipment you rent.

Renting what you need, rather than buying, can be extremely cost-effective. You’ll be using better quality equipment at a fraction of the cost, plus you won’t have to maintain any of it. By doing so, you’ll also be preserving valuable storage space in your garage or shed.

If you’re considering doing a project, feel free to browse our Facebook page here, or give us a call and tell us of your project, and we’ll be happy to set you up with a exactly the right tools and advice you need to get the job done right in time for the Holiday season.

GET YOUR HOME READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS IN FIVE WEEKENDS

Spending time with family and enjoying each other’s company is one of the best things about the holiday season. But, if you’re planning to have guests in your home, the holidays can get stressful. Whether your guests are staying for the day or overnight, you’ll want to prepare your home before they arrive. This year, prepare for your guests with these five one-weekend projects to get your home ready for the holidays.

Weekend 1. Update rooms with a fresh coat of paint. Painting is a fast, easy way to get your home ready for the holidays. Save yourself some time by only painting the rooms that your guests will spend the most time in. For example, you don’t need to paint your master bedroom or even your kids’ bedrooms knowing that your guests won’t be spending time in those rooms.

Weekend 2. Clean your carpet and flooring. You’ll also want to give your floors some attention before your guests arrive. This is an easy weekend project, but you’ll need more than just your vacuum. Consider renting a carpet cleaner or a floor polisher for a deeper clean from Rayneau Rentals & Sales.

Weekend  3. Make simple updates to your bathroom.  You can easily make small improvements to your bathrooms before your guests arrive. Not only will these updates impress your guests, but they will also benefit your home even after the holidays.

Here are some weekend home improvement project ideas for your bathroom:

  • Paint your bathroom
  • Replace dated faucets
  • Replace your shower head
  • Add new lighting
  • Add a new shower curtain
  • Get a new bathroom mirror

Weekend 4. Brighten rooms with new light fixtures. Light up rooms by adding new light fixtures. Your home will look more inviting when you add better lighting to the rooms that need it. If you want to get festive, you can always add Christmas lights!

Weekend 5. Create a welcoming front entrance.

Before inviting anyone to your home for the holidays, make sure you create a welcoming front entrance. Start off by creating a pathway and clearing the sidewalk of snow, leaves, or dirt. This will make it easy for your guests to get to your front entrance without any problems.

You’ll also want to install some outdoor lighting (if you haven’t already) to make it easier for any guests arriving at night to be able to see your home. Illuminating the pathway will show off your beautiful entrance and will even impress your guests.

Finally, finish up your front entrance from Navita Designs by adding some holiday decorations. Add a wreath to your door or even a holiday-themed welcome mat.

Making small improvements to your home shouldn’t take too much time. Enjoy the holidays with your loved ones and prepare for the holidays with these weekends home improvement projects.

UPGRADE YOUR KITCHEN CABINET WITH STYLISH HANDLES, PULLS AND KNOBS

Changing out cabinet hardware is a quick and budget-friendly kitchen refresh. There are a number of styles, and the most popular finishes include chrome, satin nickel, bronze, stainless steel and brass. Cabinet pulls and knobs can accent your cabinets or stand out to provide a contrast.

Read on for tips on choosing and installing the best cabinet hardware for your home. (Check video below).

 Knobs

Knobs come in a variety of styles and can be made of glass, metal, ceramic and more. Knobs are beautiful yet small. If you have a wide drawer, place two knobs to the left and right of the center. Make sure an equal length remains on each side of the knob to the end of the drawer. If the drawer is narrow, place one knob directly in the center. Here are common types of knobs:
  • Bar pulls are a straight bar with two screw brackets near the ends.
  • Cup pulls have a 180-degree design that accommodates your fingers.
  • Arch pulls feature a curved arch with enough room for your hand.
  • Handle pulls and cabinet handles have two screw brackets at the end of each side
  • Round knobs look like a ball or globe.
  • Square knobs have four corners in varying sizes.
  • Bar knobs are usually a narrow bar in the shape of a “T.”

Pulls

Pulls make it possible to open a cabinet with one hand or even a finger if necessary. Pulls are available in standard and extra wide lengths. Here are some of the most common types of cabinet pulls:
  • Handle or bar pulls are shaped like a rod or bar. They can be plain or ornate, thick or thin.
  • Cup or arched pulls are designed to be opened with one or two fingers.

Backplates

.Backplates are both functional and stylish. A flat metal piece, backplates are installed between the cabinet and the hardware. They protect your cabinets from dirt and grime.

Available in a variety of finishes like oil-rubbed brass or polished chrome, backplates can make a design statement. Combine them with a contrasting knob or pull for a unique look. They are also good for covering up old drilled holes.

Latches & Catches

.Catches help cabinets close tightly. They are typically magnetic or have a roller. They snatch the cabinet as it is closing, holding it in the closed position. Catches usually clip or swing into place.

Latches add a touch of security. They are great if you have small children or pets. Once the cabinet or drawer latches, it is held in the closed position. The latch is released with your finger. For a seamless look, choose push-to-open latches. These types of hardware open with a pressure touch, so handles are unnecessary.

 Drawer Slides

Being able to easily open and close cabinet drawers is essential to a well-run kitchen. A drawer slide is hardware installed in the back of the drawer. They can allow your drawer to be fully extended without it falling out or tipping over. Choose soft-close drawer slides if you want your drawers to close smoothly and quietly.

MR GAJADHAR SENDS STRONG MESSAGE TO ARMED ROBBERS – IT’S "A BIG MISTAKE ENTERING MY PREMISES”

Across the island crimes are being pulled off in no small part because so many of us are now wearing masks.

Criminals are exploiting the social acceptance of face masks due to the coronavirus in order to stage a series of armed robberies on the island.

Last week, two men, both wearing a mask, robbed our Monchy store at gunpoint and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and items.

Caught in the Act

The criminals were caught on the store’s security cameras during the act. Mr Rayneau Gajadhar, Managing Director of the company made no bones about it as he issued some stern warning to the robbers.“…….. I think the people who did this must have realized they made a BIG MISTAKE entering my premises.”

He continued, “…...they and their family should be concerned about what they did, but I am not concerned.”

The incident went viral on social media where commentaries seem to suggest that these two robbers did indeed make a big “fopar” by robbing Rayneau. At the time of penning this article both robbers were already in police custody.

It's horrible, I mean, you know we have to take certain measures because of what's happening with COVID-19, but it's the perfect script or manual for a robber — the mask, the sunshade, and a hoodie.

"I guess it's the norm,” an officer, with the Choiseul Police, remarked.  "So we're seeing more and more suspects wearing the mask and using that to their benefit." He added.

While most stores now require masks for entry amid the coronavirus pandemic, store should be asking all customers to briefly lower their face coverings before coming inside.

Suggestions for the upcoming holiday season:

1 - Retail stores need a lock system on their doors. If a person wants to come into the store, they have to show their face on camera for security.

2 - Prepare marked money. Record non-consecutive serial numbers and series dates of five and ten-dollar bills. These bills must not be used in normal transactions; rather place the money in a till to be included in the money given to the robber. Keep the record of the marked bills in a secure location other than the till or the safe.

We're going through the pandemic; it is what it is, that we have to wear the masks. But for people to take advantage and to rob and steal, it's not right.

THE SINGLE-CYLINDER ROAD ROLLER HR70C - MOVING YOU FURTHER

Any serious contractor/builder will agree that most construction sites need a stable ground to do their work on. The soil they say needs to be compressed so there aren’t any pockets of air underground that can disrupt the process.

For this to work, special construction equipment is needed to properly compact and smooth the ground.

One of the most common types of compaction equipment is the road roller. Knowing about the different types of rollers is important information for a construction project. In this article we take a look at the single-drum HR70C(Tier 4 Final) model which is designed primarily for soil compaction applications.

These three-wheeled or single drum rollers are some of the most common pieces of heavy-duty machinery. When people think of road rollers, they typically picture a three-wheeled roller. They typically have a steel drum in the front and two special wheels in the back that can prevent most flat tires from happening.

Single drum rollers can work in tighter spaces and more specialized projects due to their smaller size. They’re great for creating foundations for buildings and paving highways or sidewalks.

RAYNEAU GROUP TEAM LEADER WISHES TEACHERS "HAPPY INTERNATIONAL TEACHERS' DAY!"

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” – Albert Einstien

Almost everybody has a favorite teacher, someone who went above and beyond to encourage you because they could see your potential. Today October 5, take time to celebrate World Teachers’ Day — a global event launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994.

Teachers’ Day, recognizes dedicated educators across the country. As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, the celebration takes place on the Tuesday of the first full week in May each year.

The St Lucia Teachers Union describes Teachers’ Day as a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.

Teachers play a critical role in educating and shaping our children, the future leaders of our country.

No matter where we are in life, a teacher influenced us. They continue to impact our lives every day, too! When we meet new employees with a wealth of skills and abilities, a teacher helped shaped them. Every new business owner, doctor, engineer, or nurse can name a teacher who inspired them. Every one of us has at least one teacher in mind who encouraged and motivated us during our education.

Team Leader and CEO of Rayneau Group  wants to use this opportunity of World Teachers' Day to tell teachers that they play a very significant role in their students’ life and this should not be taken lightly. The boss recalls Brad Henry’s quote which says "a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning."

On behalf of The Management and Staff of Rayneau Group of Companies Ltd,  Mr Gajadhar extends "Happy World Teacher Day" to all teachers under the umbrella of the St Lucia’s Teachers Union and by extension the region and the world.

6 WAYS TO AVOID THE RUSH-RUSH AND START PREPARING EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS

“Are you ready for Christmas?” Whenever someone asks that question, my heart rate accelerates as I remember all the things yet to do. However, if we thought about preparation a little differently, our “getting ready” could be less of a rush-rush chore to get things done.

For children, Christmas is a time of joy, a time of celebration and a time for receiving gifts. But for most of us adults, it can be a season full of madness, stress, anxiety and lots of things to do. This is the reason why you should prepare for this season months before it happens. Yes, make preparations for Christmas, early. As early as the month of October kicks in, your Christmas preparations should begin.

Preparing for Christmas can be a lot of work, especially for moms. With the pressure of buying gifts, sending greeting cards, decorating our homes, putting up lights, cooking, attending parties, and cleaning up afterward, we have little time to actually enjoy the meaning of Christmas.

As is the case with most things, planning ahead can help ensure your next Christmas go smoother than a ride in Santa’s sleigh.

So here are 6 groundbreaking *ahem* Christmas prep-advance tips to keep in mind:

1 – Think About Last Christmas

First of all, take a pen and paper and begin writing a list of everything you were happy and unhappy with last Christmas. It’s basically a case of pinpointing your successes and failures, in order to minimize the latter next time around.

2 – Consider Cash-Flow

It’s important that you remain realistic when it comes to how much you can afford to spend over the festive season in general. It can be hugely helpful to allocate a precise budget to your intended Christmas spending, in order to ensure you don’t get carried away at the time.

3 – Shop Ahead

Shopping for Christmas and starting in October gives you the opportunity to make the most of sales, specials and the kinds of one-off deals that could save you a fortune. It also means avoiding the chaotic Christmas rush!

4 – Start Saving Now

Even if you only put a tiny amount to one side every week or month, it will still add up to help you with those inevitable Christmas expenses. A few cents over $45.00/week from now will yield $500.00 to buy gifts the week before Christmas.

5 - Or…opt out of Christmas gifts altogether.
I’m constantly astonished how many people who don’t have the money feel the need to buy gifts for other people. If you’re not financially secure, I honestly believe the best gift you could give would be to say, “Hey guys, this year I decided to be brutally honest with myself and admit that I can’t afford to give any gifts. So this year, the only gift I’m giving is to get myself financially stable.”

6 – Relax!

Last but not least, the more you treat Christmas like a tiring logistical challenge, the less you’ll enjoy what it’s really all about. Family, friends, food and fun – a time of year to revel in the most important things in life! So above all else, don’t take it all too seriously and relax!
