On Friday, January 22nd, 2021 a team from CIE Ltd met with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labor and the Overseas Engineering Construction Company to sign a contract for a road development project called the Postlewaite (Union Hill) Road Realignment project – The Government of St Lucia being the beneficiary
According to the engineers at CIE Ltd, the Postlewaite Road project (Union Hill) scope entails the construction of 438M of a new two-lane asphalt road pavement to provide a significantly improved road alignment to the existing multiple and poorly aligned bends in the same location. This area is very accident prone and presently cannot be easily traversed by heavy vehicles. The planned intervention will change all of this.
The works include:
- Site clearance
- Construction of drains
- Construction of concrete and mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls
- Construction of pre-cast Concrete barriers
- Construction of sidewalks
