Rayneau Gajadhar’s CIE Ltd is progressing very well with the construction of the new climate-resilient, smart hospital in the community of Marigot. The 40,000 square feet two-floor hospital will have a 75-bed capacity, as well as a wide range of essential services and modern state-of-the-art facilities.
Our readers will recall that in our blog dated May 5, 2020 we mentioned “Wednesday [April 29] CIE completed a
million-dollar pour - the largest amount of concrete [1000 cubic yards] at
any one time, in the country, on the Marigot Hospital.” This pour was done
on the ground floor of the building.
Friday June 12, 2020, marked the commencement of another milestone in
the construction of the new hospital. Another massive 1000 cu, yds. of concrete
was poured to cast the first floor. The task was completed the following day - Saturday.
The slideshow below shows the preparatory works
that have been undertaken over the weeks that made Friday’s pour a success.
What is even more striking is the confidence and
trust the government and people of Dominica have placed in Mr Gajadhar’s
Company. These sentiments are echoed in Prime Minister Skerritt's recent statements – “I
want to specifically recognize the contractor Rayneau who has been maintaining
high quality and high professionalism on the site – one can see it, and taking
into consideration the safety of all those who work here and all who come on
the site. I want to commend Rayneau for this.”
The construction of the hospital is fully funded
by the Citizenship by Investment (CBI), while the Government of Mexico is
granting US$5 million towards medical equipment.
The project is envisaged to be completed within 12
months.
Great job Cie, keep it up
