Gift-Giving From Rayneau and What it Symbolizes!!

Gift giving is a two-way street, in that giver and receiver experience the shared enjoyment of the exchange.

For us at Rayneau, gift giving supplies one with an armload of self-gratification. Gift giving is just one of the many ways you can show a person how you feel. Not just love, but gratitude and appreciation as well. You use it as a way to let someone know that you are thinking about them. The smallest, out of the ordinary, unexpected gift, if presented with a smile, will yield the biggest reactions.

Gift giving is both a benefit and a help. To give is the same with sharing. And to share is a relaxing act. Not only does it make a bond grow deeper, but it also gives a person the feeling of being kind and happy - because for most people, to see someone happy multiplies their joy. The joy brings the feeling of goodness to the giver.

Giving gifts is always a problem. If you love someone, you want to make sure you give them something they really want. Ideally, you want to see that look of joyous surprise when they open the gift and even before they say a word, you know it was perfect. But that doesn't always work.

It’s sad, really. You work so hard to find just the right gift, and then it doesn't fit - or it isn't the right colour - or it was broken in the box - or they already had one - or the design doesn't match what they already have - worst of all, it wasn't what they really wanted.

That’s the worst - to give someone a gift they don’t really want. Nothing makes you feel worse. They unwrap the gift and then there is a short pause - just a microsecond - but in that moment you already know the truth. “Why, it’s beautiful,” they say. But you can see the look in their eyes. You put on a brave front and try again. “Do you really like it?” “Like it? I love it.” But you aren't fooled. It’s not what they wanted. And drop by drop all the joy drains out of Christmas.

Then it became mindful to us at Rayneau this week as we thought about the question - if we were going to give someone a gift for Christmas, what would we give him/her that he/she would appreciate? The holidays are upon us, which means it's time to get cracking and find some great sentimental gifts for our valued friends and acquaintances.

You know that well decorated food hamper? Or that old aged bottle of whiskey? If you want to be the one who avoid sending those clichéd goodies, look no further. We at Rayneau have a wide range of fantastic gift ideas for you this year.

Or if you are looking for that “décor package” to bring life to your friend’s home – Navita Designs Christmas Collections at Vide Bouteille is your best choice by far.

Spruce Up Your Home For Christmas With Navita Designs!

The holidays, with their obligatory glitzy greatness maybe the one and only time of year when no one questions the glitterization of mankind. But bringing such an explosion of shimmer into your home might not quite be your cup of tea.

Give your home a toasty, comfy makeover this Christmas with these upgrades, quick fixes, and expert tips.

Here are few tips from Navita Designs Christmas Collection for tricking out your house tastefully.

Candles
Candles are a classic way to add a joyous mood to your home.. placing scented candles around your home is great way to create ambiance and make any room feel cozier. Some people love a large group of 15 or so white pillar candles in various heights, massed together on a large plate or tray in the center of the dining table."

Drape doors and entryways with lights
There’s nothing cozier than the glow of Christmas lights. Shop Christmas lights from Navita Designs and drape every doorway and entryway with garlands and twinkling lights.

There is always space for a tree - Opt for a pre-lit tree
A lighted tree will compliment your already lighted entryway and doors. At Navita designs a wide range of pre-lit trees of all sizes and heights are available.

Display more than one tree
Use various sizes, widths or decorations to add interest to your space.

Layer with a wreath
Make a wreath look even more chic by layering on top of mirrors, artwork or other décor you already have in place.

Decorate your windows from inside
You probably know that wreaths look beautiful on your home’s exterior but they look just as pretty on your interior windows too.

Choose fresh colours
Pink, coppers and blues may not look like a typical holiday scheme but they look gorgeous with twinkling lights and neutral furniture

Mix and match garlands
String together silver bells, fresh greens, tree bulbs or pretty to create an eclectic combination.

Experiment with warm cozy colours
Sure, you’re probably not going to take on a time-consuming project like re-painting your walls just before the holidays. But what about updating a bookshelf or a table in a rich, inviting colour? The results can add a lot of cozy character to a room with little effort.
Painting inside of a bookcase, behind glass cabinets, an accent piece of furniture, the inside of a closet or a door is the key to bring a pop of colour in a location that makes sense with the space.

We’re located at Rayneau in Vide Bouteille.

Happy National Day St Lucia From Rayneau!!

“Wheresoever You May Roam, Love oh Love our Island Home
Saint Lucia’s Day (National Day) marks the beginning of the Christmas season. It is usually celebrated with grand festival of lights in the island’s capital city. And this event also features a decorative lantern competition and fireworks.

But that’s not all that goes on the night before, National Day. In a few districts there are also choral performances, musical band events, blaring hi fi, parties, and special church services. It is truly a major event and a foretaste of the festivities to come during the Christmas season.

Talking about “a foretaste of the festivities to  come during the Christmas season,” you can use this day to get your home ready with décor, and Christmas lights from Navita Designs Christmas Collection.

With any further ado, the Management and Staff of RG Group of Companies Ltd extend Happy National Day wishes to its customers, clients, friends and by extension all St Lucians both here and in the diaspora. Celebrate in Peace!!!

Make Your Christmas Lighting Tasteful With Navita Designs Christmas Lights

A lot of thoughts can go into decorating your home for Christmas. First, what looks best? What is aesthetically pleasing to you, and to your neighbours? Secondly, what makes you feel something? These feelings are what make Christmas special. They’re what give the holiday a different meaning for each and every one of us.
If you're thinking of decorating your home this season but aren't quite sure what will look nice, you may want to check out Navita Designs Christmas Collection for our list of the popular Christmas light colours of the season. The colours you choose will have the greatest impact on the overall look of your home, so make sure you choose carefully.

Here are the top 5 Christmas light colours this year:
1. Orange Obviously orange is going to be a popular color at Christmas time. You can't go wrong by choosing orange Christmas lights but you'll probably want to mix the red lights with another color. Too much orange will make your house look too bright and too tacky. Adding one more color (preferably green or silver) will enhance the orange lights and make your home look holiday ready in no time
2. Green. Much like red Christmas lights, green Christmas lights have always been and will always be a popular choice for this season. Also similar to the red, green lights should be paired with a complimentary color so that your home doesn't look too overdone with green lights. Once again, pairing the green with red lights or clear lights will be the perfect touch for your holiday style.
3. Silver. Silver Christmas lights (or white lights as some prefer to call them) are a classic and simple way to make your home look seasonal and elegant. Clear lights look fantastic on their own but can also be paired with any other color (green, red, blue, gold, purple and multi-colored) to spice up the look.

4. Gold. Gold is a traditional Christmas color that exudes elegance and sophistication. Gold Christmas lights are no different. If you want to give your home a classic, traditional Christmas feel without going over the top, gold lights are the perfect choice. If you think too much gold is tacky, we suggest pairing them with either blue, clear or red lights.
5. Blue. Blue Christmas lights are quickly becoming one of the most popular decorative themes of the holiday season. While blue doesn't typically represent Christmas in any specific manner (like red or green), these lights are a great way to make your home look sophisticated and seasonal. Pair the blue lights with either clear or gold lights for an even more extravagant look that will knock your neighbour's socks off.

We hope our holiday tips have helped you through your decorating decisions. And remember, decorating your home lets your neighbours know that you and your family embrace the Christmas spirit. Hopefully your neighbours will spread a little holiday cheer of their own.

Christmas lighting with brightly colored lights can make a beautiful house much more beautiful but it needs to be done right. So #ShopNavitaDesigns for the best Christmas lighting ideas.

5 Stress-Free Holiday Season Cleaning Tips To Get Your Home Sparkling!

Can you believe Christmas is only 20 days away? Let that sink in for a bit!

Every year, holiday cleaning is a huge source of stress for people in St Lucia. For many, the burden of cleaning can ruin the whole season.

But it doesn’t have to.

I am sure that there may be no time of year when you love your house and enjoy being home–more than during the Holidays. There is just something magical about the twinkling Christmas tree lights and sparkly festive decor.

But a messy house can totally ruin your chill and Holiday spirit? There’s an old saying, “Clean Feels Good!”  Nothing puts you in a better mood than a clean home.

However, this year, we want to help make things a little easier on you. At Rayneau  we  have selected  Awesome Cleaning Products this season to bring you these awesome five top Christmas cleaning tips and we hope they help make your Holidays merry and bright.

1 -  Declutter, Dust and Clean Living Areas
Toss those empty water bottles and ask the kids to pick up their toys. It’s almost time for the Holidays!
  • Dust off the shelves, mantles and knick nacks to achieve the cleanest clean.
  • Spritz couches and upholstery with a deodorizing room spray
2 - The Entryway
It’s usually the first area guests will see, and first impressions can go a long way. The entryway also usually has an extra layer of grime from mud or debris that might be tracked inside.
  • Use soap and water to scrub the floors.
  • Be sure to take doormats outside and shake off dirt.
  • And don’t forget to clean the door and wipe down the doorknobs.
3 - Make your Kitchen Sparkle!
The Kitchen is usually the hub of the home so you can start there and spend the most time cleaning that room. Your kitchen always gets used a lot, so if you’ve been neglecting to clean, chances are it’s pretty dirty. Focus on making the kitchen look and smell nice. Start by:-
  • Cleaning  stove top, surfaces, and grates.
  • Clean out the refrigerator, making room for party foods
  • Clean and shine kitchen sink
  • Wipe down all large and small appliances.
  • Wipe down kitchen cabinets.
  • And flush the sink drains with boiling water so that there are no foul smells.
Create space in the kitchen for holiday entertaining by filling a box with kitchen items you won’t be using and moving it elsewhere.

4 - Clean the Bathrooms
If you don’t do this often and in particular, if you have kids, you’ll need to scrub down your bathrooms.
  • Wiping the surfaces is not enough;
  • Give your bathroom a deep scrub down with Awesome Shower Clean and a stiff-bristled brush.
When you’re done, your bathroom should smell clean too!
Brighten up the bath with fresh flowers, scented soaps and holiday decor.

5 - Give your floors a Holiday shine.
Sweep, vacuum and mop. If you have hardwood floors, use Awesome All-Purpose Cleaner for the best clean! If your carpets haven’t seen some TLC in a while, get Awesome Carpet Spot and Stain Remover  to give your carpet a thorough clean.

Hopefully, this helps you get ready for the holidays, and whatever you celebrate and whatever your plans are, we wish you the very best.

2 Perfect Christmas Gifts for Your Home & Family!

Whether it be for your children, friends, co-workers or even pets, nearly everyone can be on your list for gift-giving during the holiday season.

Everyone, that is, except your house.

We’re of course partially joking when we say this, but if you think about all the things that your house does for your family throughout the year it’s hard not to put your home on your “nice” list this year.

Michael strongly believes that apart from keeping your family safe and comfortable during the wet and dry seasons, to allowing you to host your holiday get-togethers and allowing you a place to unwind peacefully at the end of each day, your home is definitely most deserving of a present this Christmas.

"So what kind of gift do you give a home?" I put to Michael. "How about a new interior house painting project?" He responded almost immediately.

With 2019 flying by, the holiday season is approaching fast. With the holiday season means prepping your home for upcoming get-togethers, parties or to just give your home a holiday look and feel for yourself.

A great way to do this and get a home improvement project complete is by giving the interior of your home a new paint job to boost that holiday aesthetic. Our in-house paint expert, Michael, has vast knowledge in paints and will be happy to guide and assist you in meeting all your painting needs throughout the holiday season.

Here are 2 Christmas gift ideas for your house that will potentially save you time & money:

1. Add a Festive Accent Wall
Adding fresh color to a single wall in your kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms or living rooms is a great, quick, simple way to add a holiday aesthetic to the interior of your home.

In many cases if you have a uniform colour palette in a room in your home, you can find a complementary colour that will give that room a holiday feel without having to paint the entire room.

2. Paint Your Cabinets for a Quick Kitchen Aesthetic Update
If you don’t choose to paint the walls of your kitchen or add an accent wall, painting your cabinets to add the accent is another quick way to give your interior a nice aesthetic for the holidays.

Again using the wall colour of your kitchen, it’s quite easy to find a festive complementary colour for those cabinets and one that you’ll be happy with long-term.

Ready to get started on your home interior project?  Pay us a visit at our Corinth (450-7247) Monchy (450-7248) Vide Bouteille (450-7246) or Babonneau (450-5759) branch, and give your home the gift that keeps on giving.

At Rayneau Construction & Industrial Products Ltd We’re always happy to serve you.

8 Tips from Navita Designs for Decorating Your Christmas Tree

Decorating a Christmas tree is one of the highlights of the holiday season. It’s the     perfect opportunity to get the whole family involved. However, if you are looking for some help this year, let us guide you through the basics of making a beautiful tree.

Before we start, have you ever wondered how many lights or ornaments, or how much garland you need to decorate your Christmas tree?  This Christmas tree decorating guide makes it surprisingly easy to get the perfect amount of trimmings for your tree!  It includes all of the lengths and measurements based on tree size so whether you have a 5 foot, 7 foot, or even 12 foot Christmas tree, you can figure out exactly what you need!

All decors are available at Navita Designs upstairs the Rayneau branch in Vide Bouteille.

Now let’s decorate:

STEP 1: FLUFF THE TREE (IF ARTIFICIAL) AND ADD LIGHTS (IF YOUR TREE ISN’T PRELIT).

Keep the lights on while decorating the tree.
A product such as this makes a great addition to the tree if you like a twinkle effect.  Depending on how twinkly you want the tree, you’ll need 1-2 boxes for a 6′ tree and 2-3 boxes for a 9′ tree.

 STEP 2: ADD THE GARLAND.

*Start about 1/5th the way down from the top of the tree.
*Use floral wire to attach the garland or twist branches together if the tree is artificial.
*Run at an angle around the tree: 2-3 times around a 6′ tree and 3-4 times around a 9′ tree.

STEP 3: ADD OVERSIZED ORNAMENTS AND DECORATIONS.
*Use 2-3 over-sized items on a 6′ tree and 3-4 items on a 9′ tree.
*Lanterns and/or urns work great on a tree.  Just remember to make sure they are sturdily wired in place and add filler.  And don’t use a live flame on candles!
*Place the largest pieces toward the bottom of the tree.
*Mix the items up.  They don’t all need to match.

STEP 4: ADD PICKS.
*-Stack three picks together for greater impact.
*Place the largest/longest one on the bottom, then the medium size, ending with the smallest on top.
*No need to wire them together.
*Simply stick them into the tree branches.  No need to wire them to the branch unless they are heavy.
*Mix colors and textures.
*It’s also pretty to just use one branch with a bow attached.
*The picks closest to the top of the tree may need to be turned upside down so that you aren’t looking at the underside of it.

STEP 5: ADD THE TREE TOPPER.

*Come down about 1/5th from the top.  Add three long, spikey picks around the tree at an upward angle.
*Choose three more slightly shorter and more full picks.  Place these a few inches closer to the top and in between the spaces of the first layer, also at an upward angle.
*Add a third layer closer to the top.  Using slightly shorter and more full picks.  These will be placed into the tree almost vertically.

STEP 6: ADD ORNAMENTS.

*First, place larger ornaments on the inside of the tree for added dimension.
*Next, place a few large ornaments toward the outside of the tree.  This is where you’ll want to put the ornaments that you want to showcase.
*Use long ornaments to help fill empty spaces.

STEP 7: ADD FLEXIBLE GLITTER TAPE TO REALLY GIVE YOUR TREE THAT “NAVITA DESIGNS TOUCH”.

*-Start attaching it near the top, but below the topper.  Wind it around the tree similar to how you applied the garland.
*Glitter tape kind of has a mind of its own, so allow it to twist and turn as you go.  That’s what makes it look so great anyway!

STEP 8: TWEAK, TWEAK AND THEN TWEAK SOME MORE.

*Step back from your tree and it examine it throughout the process.
*Make tweaks as you go
                STEP 9: YOU’RE FINISHED!

Now pat yourself on the back and enjoy the oohs and aahs of your family and friends!
